There will be daily mass on land and on the cruise. DAY 1(Thu): MAY 14, 2009 DEPART DAY 2(Fri): MAY 15, 2009 ARRIVAL THESSALONIKI Morning arrive in Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki-Visit the Walls, The House of Jason where Paul lived and the Agora where he preached. Continue to Veria-ancient Beroea- to the memorial commemorating Paul's preaching to the local Jews in 54 AD. Overnight in Kavala (dinner included). DAY 3(Sat): MAY 16, 2009 PHILIPPI Visit Philippi where Paul lived, preached and was imprisoned and the Baptistery of Lydia, where the first baptism on European soil took place. Gather at the Ancient Theatre, singing and enjoy our Bible actor performing. Cross the Greek/Turkish borders and drive to Istanbul to embark the great "CRISTAL" . All Steps of St Paul passengers have dinner in prearranged area together and special meeting room on board for lecture and their Bible studies. DAY 4 (Sun): MAY 17, 2009 ISTANBUL Istanbul, one of the world's greatest historic cities. Formerly Byzantium, the center of the Eastern Roman Empire, this city is built on seven green hills and situated astride two continents. East meets West in every way. We visit the Topkapi Palace with its harem and fabulous treasure chambers, the Sultan Ahmed (Blue) Mosque with its six minarets, and St. Sofia, converted to a mosque from a Christian basilica after the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Sailing in the afternoon. DAY 5(Mon): MAY 18, 2009 MORNING AT SEA; AFTERNOON MYCONOS Relax on board or get together with others in prayer, Christian entertainment and Bible studies and lectures. Afternoon call at the white-washed island of Myconos. DAY 6 (Tue):MAY 19, 2009 KUSADASI - EPHESUS - PATMOS Arrive at Kusadasi. Visit Ephesus, the most impressive archeological site in Turkey, including the Great Amphitheater where Paul spoke to the Ephesians. Gather at the Ancient Theatre, sing along; our actor would perform Apostle Paul. In the afternoon visit of Patmos island. Patmos, the "Holy Island" for the Christian faith. This is the place where the apocalyptic Revelation of John was written during his exile from the Roman Empire. We visit the cave and the monastery of St. John. Gather at the litle theatre next to the Grotto, where our actor performs John. DAY 7 (Wed): MAY 20, 2009 RHODES Rhodes, island of "roses", is the legendary home of the sun god Apollo. The old town (the largest inhabited medieval town of Europe) and its mighty fortifications (built by the crusaders of St. John) are the finest surviving example of defensive architecture. An optional tour takes us to Lindos. From the Acropolis a breathtaking view covering the great expanse of the Aegean Sea and St. Paul's Bay, where the Apostle cast harbor during his historic voyage to Ephesus. DAY 8 (Thu): MAY 21, 2009 CRETE Paul docked in Crete on the way to Jerusalem. Today you will visit the awesome Minoan Palace of Knossos. In the afternoon visit of Santorini island. Great poets have sung its praises, a 4.000 year old history. And the eternal rock continues to stand, strong and majestic, rising proudly from the sea and guarding well the secrets of Atlantis… DAY 9 (Fri): MAY 22, 2009 DISEMBARKATION - ATHENS - CORINTH Disembark the cruise ship and begin the tour of Athens. Visit among other masterpieces of the "Golden Age" the Acropolis, the agora and the Mars Hill where Paul taught. Continue to ancient Corinth. Visit the ruins of the ancient city where Paul worked. See the remains of first-century shops, the agora where Paul was on trial at the Bema, the Fountain of Peirene, Temple of Apollo and visit the museum. Return to Athens. Overnight (dinner included). DAY 10 (Sat): MAY 23, 2009 DEPART ATHENS Transfer to the airport and fly back home. |
